Jochen Flasbarth is Secretary of State, Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety in Germany. Mr. Flasbarth’s career in the environment and conservation field spans over three decades. Prior to becoming Secretary of State in 20013, he served as President of the Federal Environment Agency.
Mr. Flasbarth has served on several private and non-profit boards; including most recently Member of the board of Allianz pro Schiene (pro rail alliance), Member of the Federal Government’s Council for Sustainable Development, and Member of the Zukunftsrat (Council for the future) at the State Government of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Mr. Flasbarth studied economics, political science and philosophy in Münster and Bon graduating with a degree in economics.
