Wangu Mutua is Deputy Regional Director of the NGO Vi Agroforestry, working with communities in the Lake Victoria Basin in East Africa for 12 years. She spent over 10 years working with farmers in Western Kenya. Vi Agroforestry promotes agroforestry to ensure food sufficiency and security all year round. The reality of climate change and its impact on smallholder farmers has led Vi Agroforestry to work with adaptation and mitigation projects. Ms. Mutua has been involved in setting up and coordinating implementation of agriculture mitigation and adaptation projects in Kenya. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Moi University and a Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management from Maseno University in Kenya.
