Patrick Caron

Patrick Caron is Director of Research and Strategy at the French institute Research for Agricultural Development (CIRAD). He specializes in family farming, agrarian and animal production systems, and territorial development and has coordinated numerous scientific projects  in Brazil and Botswana. Mr. Caron also serves as Chair of the Steering Committee of the FAO High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition. He has also been Director of Research of CIRAD’s Territories, Environment and People Department and Scientific Director of its Environment and Societies Department. Patrick Caron holds doctorates in Veterinary science and Geography.
