Maryam Niamir-Fuller is currently serving as the Special Advisor to the Executive Director of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) on the Post-2015 agenda and Sustainable Development Goals. She was formerly the Director of the Division of Global Environment Facility Coordination (DGEF) at UNEP. She has 27 years of experience in the sustainable rural development and environmental management in Africa, West Asia, Asia and Latin America, working with USAID, several UN Agencies and international NGOs. Ms. Niamir-Fuller also has seven years of experience with the Global Environmental Facility. She holds a Master’s degree in Regional Planning and a PhD in Rangeland Management and Soil Conservation.
