Gustavo Suarez de Freitas is the Executive Coordinator of the National Forest Conservation Program for Climate Change Mitigation in the Peruvian Ministry of Environment. He is a forester with extensive experience in forest conservation in the Amazon and Andean region. Previous positions held include National Director of the Protected Areas Department, National Director of the Forest and Wildlife Department (Ministry of Agriculture), and Executive Director of the ProNaturaleza Foundation. For the past 15 years he was involved in the main processes related to protected areas, forest and wildlife policies, regulations, institutional development and funding strategies.
