James Allen is the Founder and Executive Director of Sustainability LAB, a Brazilian strategy consultancy based in São Paulo. He has previously worked as a manager, researcher and consultant for the Brazilian Foreign Office, Itamaraty, the UK’s Department for International Development, the University of São Paulo and Embrapa, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation. His areas of interest include corporate social responsibility, social investment, impact assessment and participatory research and action. Mr. Allen has facilitated the review of social and environmental standards for Responsible Soy, meetings of the UN’s Global Compact and a number of community-based dialogues and councils. He is currently working in partnership with Agroicone and actors in the Brazilian agricultural sector to define roadmaps and action plans for implementing the revised forest code.
