Dyno Keatinge joined AVRDC as Director General in 2008. AVRDC actively builds networks and conducts research and promotion activities to raise the profile of vegetables for improved health and global poverty alleviation. He is the Chair of the Global Horticulture Initiative, and since 2014 also of the Association of International Research and Development Centers for Agriculture (AIRCA), a global alliance formed in 2012 with mission of “Putting Research into use by strengthening local capacity for sustainable improvements to incomes, food and nutrition security in healthy landscapes” He has global expertise in crop agronomy having worked at ICARDA in Syria, Pakistan and Turkey, IITA in Nigeria and Cameroon and ICRISAT in India and several countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Mr. Keatinge was also Professor of Agricultural Systems and Management at Reading University for much of the 1990s. He is an agronomist with a Doctorate in Agriculture from Queen’s University, Belfast, Northern Ireland, and is Visiting Professor of Tropical Agriculture at the University of Reading, UK.
