Claire Wigg works as a catalyst for good business at ZeroMission in Stockholm, helping companies to reduce their impact on the environment. Her first career was in the public sector in the UK where she was a social worker with children and families for 11 years. On moving to Sweden in 2006, she took the MBA programme at Stockholm School of Economics.
With this business education she switched to the private sector to focus on environmental challenges. At ZeroMission, she does carbon accounting with large and small companies in a variety of sectors. Many of these companies also choose to offset greenhouse gas emissions, which is done through Plan Vivo forestry projects and myclimate’s Gold Standard energy projects. One of these is a carbon offset project with Solvatten, the social enterprise which she worked with from 2008 to 2013.
Ms. Wigg was a member of the Council of Shared Interest, a Fair Trade finance organization in the UK, and this year joined the Board of Social Entrepreneurship Forum in Sweden.
