Claire Esbenshade is Corporate Responsibility Specialist at ArcelorMittal, based in London. She is mainly responsible for corporate implementation of the group’s global sustainability approach, and supports the company’s Mining Business and Investor Relations function. She is a founding member of the Ebola Private Sector Mobilisation Group and has acted as Secretariat since its inception in August 2014. Prior to joining ArcelorMittal, Ms. Esbenshade spent several years in Australia, West and Central Africa coordinating social and environmental impact assessments for large scale mining projects. She holds a Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management from the University of Queensland where her research focussed on public private partnerships for biodiversity conservation in the Republic of Congo.
