Toby Gardner

Toby Gardner (PhD) is a Research Fellow at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). Mr. Gardner joined SEI in 2014 after five years as a Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, where he helped found the Sustainable Amazon Network (www.redeamazoniasustentavel.org), a network of over 100 researchers, local stakeholders, NGOs and Brazilian government representatives. The networks addresses land-use sustainability challenges in the Brazilian Amazon. Toby Gardner has published over 100 articles and book chapters on biodiversity conservation and land-use sustainability issues. In 2012, was awarded the British Ecological Society Founders prize for contributions to the science of ecology.
