The 24 best photographs selected by the jury were displayed in large format in the prime location of Parque Kennedy in Lima, Peru, during an event of global dimensions. In addition, an audience choice was determined through online voting. The photograph that wins the audience choice will be displayed at the conference venue, and widely shared online through our social media channels.
Competition details
The photography competition is part of the Global Landscape Forum that took place in Lima in December 2014, parallel to the 20th session of the United Nations climate negotiations.
The event gathered 1,700 participants from Latin America and the world, from the private sector, NGOs, leading international organizations, government and the general public, while the online mobilization campaign reached millions. The competition sought to highlight the urgent need to deeply rethink the role of sustainable landscapes in relation to the new climate and development agendas.
More than ever, in a world where resources are under increasing and multiple pressures, it is now crucial to approach land management in a holistic, inclusive manner and at all scales, in the sphere of international forums as much as in rural and forest communities.
The competition was open to photographers from anywhere in the world, both professional and amateur. Participants could submit up to 3 (three) photographs on issues related to sustainability of multifunctional landscapes.
Three winners were selected: a jury selected the best two photographs to receive the 1st and 2nd prizes, while an online voting open to all on landscapes.org led to the designation of an audience choice winner (on audience choice).
The 24 best photographs, selected by the jury, were displayed in Parque Kennedy, Lima.
