Dennis del Castillo is currently the Forest Management and Environmental Service Program director at the Peruvian Amazon Research Institute (IIAP). He has more than 25 years of experience conducting participatory research with local communities and implementing projects of rural development, biodiversity conservation, soil and forest management, payment for environmental services, carbon sequestration in Amazonian peatlands, and sustainable use of natural resources. He has in-depth knowledge of rural life in various Amazonian and African countries, and an advocate of Amazonian peatland conservation.
