David is Investment Director at Althelia Ecosphere. He has extensive experience working in the sustainable resources sector and expertise in sustainable agriculture, clean energy and fisheries.
David focuses on managing projects for Althelia Climate Fund throughout the investment cycle, including opportunity screening, deal development, due diligence and portfolio management.
David also has a keen interest in the links between project performance and the social, environmental and economic outcomes that they can deliver. He is responsible for designing and implementing Althelia’s impact management framework and project Key Performance Indicators.
In addition to his work for the Climate Fund, David is also at the forefront of exploration of new business opportunities for Althelia, including co-developing the Sustainable Oceans Fund, as well as supporting other platform initiatives.
Before joining Althelia, David worked extensively with the Prince’s International Sustainability Unit, where he managed the organisation’s programme on global food, energy and water security and for the fund manager Bridges Ventures where he supported their Impact+ advisory work. Prior to that he worked in investment at Climate Change Capital and was a strategy consultant at Accenture.
David has a BSc in Geography from University College London and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures from Imperial College London.
