Minister of Environment and Forestry, Ethiopia
H.E Belete Tafere has been the Minister of Environment and Forestry of Ethiopia since June 2013. Prior to becoming a minister, he worked as senior advisor natural resources management for the GIZ in Tigray, northern Ethiopia, and as Deputy Head of the bureau of agriculture and rural development and Head of the natural resources management sector in Tigray. Other positions held include Deputy Head, Bureau of Agriculture and natural resources, Tigray regional national state, and Deputy Head, Bureau of Natural Resources Development and Environmental protection of Tigray regional national state.
