The 2016 Global Landscapes Forum: Climate Action for Sustainable Development will take place on 16 November at the Kenzi Club Agdal Medina in Marrakesh, Morocco.
Speeches and project launches at every previous Forum have made headlines around the world, and the event in Marrakesh will be no different.
At the closing plenary, there will be a major announcement on the future of the Global Landscapes Forum.
Dozens of the world’s leading thinkers and experts on climate and landscapes will be speaking, as well as government ministers like:
- Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Barbara Hendricks of Germany
- Costa Rica’s Minister of Environment and Energy and United Nations Environment Assembly President Edgar Gutierrez Espeleta
- Minister for National Development Planning Bambang Brodjonegoro of Indonesia
In addition, six practical initiatives and sustainable solutions to climate change will be launched. They are embargoed until 16 November, but additional access or interviews with participants is possible on the day.
