James Cameron

James Cameron is the Chair of the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Board and Council since 2012. He the co-founder of Climate Change Capital and a lawyer by training. He has spent much of his legal career working on climate change matters, including negotiating the UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol as an adviser to the Alliance of Small Island States.  He is a member of HM Treasury’s Infrastructure UK advisory council, and a member of GE’s ecomagination board. Cameron is also a member of a the E15 Expert Group on Measures to Address Climate Change and the Trade System, and a founding Programme Advisory Board member of ICTSD, the publisher of BioRes. James is also a member of the WEF’s Agenda Council on Climate Change and a Trustee Member of the UK Green Building Council and the Carbon Disclosure Project, a member of the Prime Minister’s Business Advisory Group and of the Green Investment Bank Commission. He has held academic appointments at Cambridge, London and Sydney and is currently affiliated with the Yale Centre for Environmental Law and Policy.  He is a member of Oxfam’s development board and a senior adviser to the Climate Group, a member of the Smith School’s development board and Chair of the China Dialogue.
