Jason Eis

Jason brings expertise in economic development, energy systems and market reform, innovation and early stage investment, sustainability, and operational improvement. His work has encompassed both corporate strategy and public policy, and the nexus between the two. Jason served as Regional Director for the Global Green Growth Institute, where he oversaw programs in Latin America, Africa and India, supporting public policy and private sector investment decisions in the energy, transport, industrial, agricultural and forestry sectors. Prior to this, Jason served as Head of Innovation Strategy at the Carbon Trust, and led the development of the UK’s low carbon technology innovation strategy for an intergovernmental group comprised of key ministries and delivery bodies. In this role, he also led the Carbon Trust’s strategic development of its RD&D, incubation and seed-funding programs. His private sector experience includes serving as a senior engagement manager at McKinsey & Co., where he worked on market strategy, operational improvement and corporate finance in the Energy, Industrial, Healthcare and Financial sectors. He was also a fellow to McKinsey’s Sustainability and Resource Productivity Initiative, with a focus on innovation policy and green investment. Prior to this, he worked in various consultancy roles in the areas of market strategy, operational improvement and resource management. Jason has a PhD in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and has worked as a researcher in the areas of public finance, social welfare, labour markets, and international trade and investment.  Jason earned his BA from Yale College in Economics and International Studies.
