Prior to that, he set up and led IFAD\u2019s Environment and Climate Division, where he created the innovative new Adaptation for Smallholder Agriculture Programme (ASAP). Before that, he\u00a0led the Climate and Environment Department at the UK\u2019s Department for International Development (DFID), which included managing UK\u2019s efforts to help design the Climate Investment Funds (\u2018CIFs\u2019). Other positions held include working in EBRD on the development of its energy efficiency portfolio and poverty impact assessment tools, working in the World Bank as their trade representative in Geneva, leading a World Bank report on export diversification and agriculture in Botswana, working as a DFID economist in South East Asia, and leading DFID\u2019s trade negotiations policy team.
