Joan Carling is Secretary General of the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact, serving as representative and spokesperson for AIPP\u2019s 47 member-organizations from 14 countries. She an indigenous activist from the Cordillera, Philippines, working from grassroots to international levels for over 20 years. Her expertise includes human rights, collective rights of indigenous peoples in relation to development and free prior and informed consent (FPIC), environment, and climate change. She does capacity building, lobby and advocacy, and networking to advance indigenous peoples\u2019 movements in Asia.
