The Global Landscapes Forum is launching its inaugural infographic and data visualization\u00a0competition in 2014 with a US$ 1000 first prize. The competition encourages research institutions, think tanks,\u00a0design professionals, students and other interested individuals to use their creativity to enhance understanding of\u00a0the holistic \u2018landscape approach\u2019 to development conservation and research.<\/p>\n
ENTER THE COMPETITION<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cWhat is a landscape approach\u201d?<\/a><\/p>\n Participants are free to focus on one or several of these questions:<\/p>\n Too often, facts about development, land use and the environment are presented in a<\/p>\n simplistic manner, overlooking key interactions that take place in landscapes.<\/p>\n The competition challenges participants to represent the real complexity of a landscape in a\u00a0way that allows for simple understanding. For inspiration and information about landscapes and landscape approaches,\u00a0view\u00a0the Facts and figures<\/a>.\u00a0Follow this\u00a0link<\/a> for a list of helpful resources and tools to design infographics and data visualizations,\u00a0kindly\u00a0provided by our partner, On Think Tanks<\/a>.<\/p>\n We are happy about entries from data visualization and graphic design professionals \u2013 but\u00a0also encourage amateurs to try out their design skills.
