Why? Because it implies that group is marginal. We tend to be involved in these decision-making processes because youth is \u2018colorful,\u2019 youth is \u2018dynamic.\u2019 But actually what we require is to be seriously and honestly involved at the centre of processes.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Florent Kaiser, former president of the International Forestry Students Association (IFSA)<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Over 200 people discussed, debated and presented ideas on key landscape issues at Peru&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.globallandscapesforum.org\/youth\">Global Landscapes Forum Youth Session<\/a>\u00a0in December 2014. resources from the youth masterclasses<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Covering how to pitch an idea, facilitate a discussion, network effectively and think critically on landscapes, the masterclasses provided youth with critical skills to improve their participation in the Global Landscapes Forum.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve openly published some key resources on our masterclass page: <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.globallandscapesforum.org\/youth-masterclasses\">landscapes.org\/youth-masterclasses<\/a><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"gl-uppercase gl-has-bg\">What is the youth session at the 2014 Global Landscapes Forum?<\/h3>\n<p>We learnt a thing or two after the\u00a0last youth\u00a0session at the 2013 Global Landscapes Forum\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/forestsasia.org\/youth\" class=\"broken_link\">youth\u00a0discussions\u00a0at\u00a0the Forests Asia Summit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The first: Young people are not given many opportunities to discuss and debate integrated approaches to land use\u00a0in\u00a0their studies or workplaces.<\/p>\n<p>The second: Despite increasing commitments for youth representation in committees and at conferences, there&#8217;s not\u00a0been a space for sufficient mentoring and skill building opportunities so young people can effectively\u00a0contribute to\u00a0discussions, network and become better professionals.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center;
