Tim Christophersen coordinates the work on forests and climate change at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), including UNEP’s role within the UN-REDD Programme, a collaborative initiative together with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) to reduce deforestation in developing countries. He previously worked for the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Danish Ministry of the Environment, and the European Commission. Tim is a German national and holds a degree in forest engineering and conservation from Dresden University of Technology.
