Technical Advisor for REDD+ for Conservation International
Steve Panfil is Technical Advisor for REDD+ at Conservation International (CI). He has worked on a variety of issues related to REDD+, including capacity building, social and biodiversity impact assessment, and social and environmental standards. He recently led the publication of a review of the approaches being taken to biodiversity conservation in national REDD+ programs and in forest carbon projects for USAID’s Forest Carbon Markets and Communities project. Mr. Panfil has a PhD in tropical ecology and extensive experience conducting research and conservation initiatives in Latin America.
