Deputy Director General Research, CIFOR
Robert Nasi, is Deputy Director General of the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and Director of the CGIAR Research Program on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry. He worked at CIFOR in several positions since 1999 (principal scientist, biodiversity programme leader, programme director). His interests include the sustainable use of forest products and multiple-use management of tropical forests, among other topics. His scientific work aims to integrate social and biological sciences for better management of tropical forests, more sustainable livelihoods and better designed forest policies. Mr. Nasi graduated as a forest engineer from the French National Forestry School and achieved a PhD in the field of ecology from the University of Paris Sud – Orsay.
