Head of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme, NEPAD
Martin Bwalya is the Head of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) in the NEPAD Agency. He is a specialist in machinery design and management, with a focus on animal and tractor drawn zero tillage equipment. Moving into international development work, he worked with the African Conservation Tillage Network (ACT) at the Harare, Zimbabwe and Nairobi, Kenya offices as Executive Secretary. This involved promotion and coordinating networking and knowledge management across Africa in support of efforts to scale-up sustainable land and water management, in general, and conservation agriculture, in particular. Mr. Bwalya joined the NEPAD Agency in 2007 as Senior Land and Water Management Specialist and NEPAD focal point for the TerrAfrica Partnership. He has participated in the AUC-ECA-AfDP process to development the Land Policy Guidelines and work on numerous land and land use related think pieces and program level undertakings.
