Secretary of Environment and Regional Development of the State of Jalisco, Mexico
María Magdalena Ruiz Mejía is Secretary of Environment and Regional Development of the State of Jalisco, Mexico. Previously she served as Secretary of Environment and Ecology of the city of Guadalajara, Mexico, andlecturer on the environment, sustainability and natural resources at the university ITESO. She also works as a speaker on environmental topics. Ms. Ruiz received the Pro Habitat award in Mexico (responsible consumption) and the award for protecting the environment from the Mexican Association Citizens for the Environment. She is a biologist and currently enrolled in a Master’s program on philosophy and social sciences.
