Director General, Forestpa
Luis Gonzalo Moscoso Higuita is Director General of the restoration company Forestpa. He has solid, hands-on expertise in reforestation, restoration, plantation forestry, urban gardening and watershed protection. Over the past thirty years he has designed, directed and executed more than 300 projects in Colombia. Luis Gonzalo is author of the prize winning book ‘Reforestation, a natural process’ and was the architect behind the first project ever in South America to trade carbon credits generated by native tree species on the voluntary market. Mr. Moscoso Higuita has carried out pioneering work in the Colombian lowlands leading the way to successful, inclusive and affordable tree-based restoration of gold mine spoils in the tropics.
