Indigenous Leader, Costa Rica
Levi Sucre Romero, is an indigenous leader who currently leads the process of technical management and organization of the RIBCA, a group of eight indigenous territories in Costa Rica. He also coordinates the Executive Commission of the Mesoamerican Alliance of Peoples and Forests (AMPB). He is a farmer and specialist in the areas of indigenous organizations, cultures, and the environment in Central America, coming from the Bribri Talamanca indigenous community in Costa Rica. He has more than 20 years of experience with rural development and community organization, and 15 years of experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of projects in indigenous territories and local communities.
