Principal Researcher Agroecology, International Institute for Environment and Development
Krystyna Swiderska is a Principal Researcher in the Agroecology Team at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). She has coordinated collaborative research on traditional knowledge, genetic resources and biodiversity at IIED since 1998 working with partners in Latin America, Asia and Africa. She currently coordinates IIED’s work on biocultural heritage and the SIFOR (Smallholder Innovation for Resilience) project with partners in Peru, India, China and Kenya. This project seeks to strengthen innovation systems based on traditional knowledge of indigenous and traditional farming communities for food security in the face of climate change.
