Director General CATIE
Jose Joaquin Campos Arce is the Director General of the Costa Rica-based Center for Tropical Agricultural Research and Education (CATIE), an international organization for research, graduate education and outreach. Prior to joining CATIE, he served as Deputy Director General, Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and Director of the Latin American Chair of Forest Landscape Management at CATIE. He also held positions as Director of the Environment and Rural Development Department, Director of the Forest Department and Head of the Natural Forest Management Unit. Mr. Campos holds a D.Phil. in Forestry from the University of Oxford, UK, a M.Sc. in Natural Resources Management from CATIE, and a B.Sc. in Forest Engineering from ESALQ, University of São Paulo, Brazil.
