Youth Liaison Officer Ministry of Environment, Peru
Irene Hofmeijer Merkeli is the Youth Liaison Officer for the Ministry of Environment in Peru to the UNFCCC for the COP 20 conference. She is responsible for facilitating dialogue, creating channels for participation, and building confidence with youth groups at national, regional and global scale in preparation for the UNFCCC COP20. She is also the President and Founder of Life Out Of Plastic SAC, a social enterprise whose mission is to raise awareness about plastic pollution in marine ecosystems using market tools to fund educational campaigns.
