Minister of Environment, Ecuador
Lorena Tapia is Minister of Environment of Ecuador. Previously, she worked as legal advisor for the ministry’s program for environmental and social rehabilitation (Programa de Reparación Ambiental y Social, PRAS). Because of her perseverance in strengthening the program and protecting the environmental and safeguarding community rights, she was appointed as minister. Lorena Tapia is a lawyer with a Master’s degree in Corporate Law of the Pontifical University of Santiago de Chile. She also completed studies in Sustainable Development and Globalization at the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLASCO), and in Environmental Management at the Tecnológico of Monterrey, Mexico.
