Mountain Charcoal – Zambia
Photographer’s comment: “Charcoal production in the high hills of Mwanagua village, Mpulungu District, Northern Zambia is commonly found. On the shore of Lunzua River, in the hills which surrounds the majestic Tanganyika Lake firewood and charcoal are practically the only source of energy used by locals; while threatening the Lake and driving erosion the ancient slash ´n burning practice is deeply inherited in the Pemba livelihood.“
