“Jungle Violin Man” – Bolivia
Photographer’s comment: “Santiago Tamo Noza plays the violin in the Bolivian Jungle in the National Park and Indigenous reserve TIPNIS. He belongs to the San Miguelito delIsiboro community and is a Mojeño indigenous man. A little over three years ago the government of president Evo Morales tried to build a a road in this region, violating the rights of the Indigenous people, but after a 500 kilometer march in protest and after a huge support of the population, the government stopped its plans.
This picture shows the beauty of the people of the TIPNIS and its surroundings, and how they defended theri territory against the constructiuon of this new road, showing to the world the importance of protecting the enviroment and their culture and traditions. I think this picture shows the beauty and armony of nature and humans.“
