“El pantanal” – Brazil
Photographer’s comment: “This photo was taken in the region known as “el pantanal” in Brazil, one of the most amazing yet fragile ecosystems on earth. The place is flooded once a year, which is why the tree is submerged under water. This area is threatened by pasture clearing and cattle farming. The photo is upside down, the difference between the water’s reflection and the actual terrain and sky barely distinguishable.“
