Photographer’s comment: “A traveller on a leisure cruise on the Tambopata River, Peru, takes a ‘’selfie’’. Tourism is a viable sustainable alternative to forest clearing, logging and clear-cutting. Opportunities exist widely for its implementation in a responsible manner. We are at the brink of environmental disasters everywhere. Let’s hope we can be proud of the ‘’selfies’’ we take from now into the future.”
