UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples

Victoria Tauli-Corpuz is UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples. She was the former Chair of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Founder and Executive Director, Tebtebba Foundation (Indigenous Peoples’ International Centre for Policy Research and Education) and Founder and Executive Director, Cordillera Women’s Education and Resource Center, Inc. among other positions. Victoria Tauli-Corpuz is an indigenous activist from the Kankanaey Igorot people of the Cordillera region of the Philippines. As indigenous leader she contributed to the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in 2007. Victoria Tauli-Corpuz is a trained nurse.
