Gender Café

Time: 09:00 - 18:30 Day 2 | Nov 17

The Gender Café will be open during both days of the Global Landscapes Forum

The Gender Café is a space where everyone can learn and share their knowledge about the role of gender and social equity in forestry, farming and other land uses.

The Gender Café will showcase publications and videos throughout both days of the Global Landscapes Forum. During coffee and lunch breaks, join conversations hosted by leading researchers, practitioners and policy makers.

Some questions the Gender Café will address:

  1. How do gender and social inequalities affect the governance of landscapes?
  2. How can gender and social equity contribute to ‘climate smart landscapes’ that are food secure and climate resilient?
  3. How do women and men contribute to landscapes management? Are women’s contributions recognized and rewarded in the same way as men’s?
  4. Do governance and legal frameworks in the landscape affect women  and men differently? What can be done to improve them?
  5. What potential does cross-sectoral governance have for addressing gender and social inequalities?
  6. What are the challenges of increasing women’s and other marginalized groups participation in landscape governance? What difference would their participation make?
