(Transformative, innovative yet grounded) For 5 consecutive days, I was able to work with some of the most inspiring and knowledgeable individuals in the field of landscape. My fellow youth innovators, mentors and facilitators were as enthusiastic as I was in solving current environmental problems. Seeing people my own age being similarly passionate certainly restored […]

One month ago, I was fortunate enough to participate in the Youth in Landscape Initiative as part of the 2015 Global Landscapes Forum (GLF). While I expected to learn quite a bit and meet some wonderful people, I had no idea how amazing an experience it would be. I have never felt quite as empowered […]

Now back in Seattle after attending the […]

Increasingly, it is becoming difficult to discuss agriculture and development projects without discussing the inclusion of gender into research and implementation. Gender dynamics weren’t mentioned in the title of the session, “Climate Smart Agriculture for healthy landscapes and livelihoods,” hosted by the Association of International Research and Development Centers for Agriculture (AIRCA) and the Tropical […]

It’s been two weeks since I’ve got back from Paris. I’m in a large room with all of my colleagues, working on our programme’s planning for 2016. We’re in San Ramon, in the Chanchamayo province, commonly referred to as the central jungle of Peru. The moist tropical heat makes it difficult to concentrate on the […]
